An E-mail interview with Ferri Somogyi

Ferri Somogyi, busy actor and running his own internet company, is quite happy to tell us about his favorite bookmarks.

- How are things going at XSPerformance Casting? Are there a lot of online bookings, and how many artists are in your directory?

"We are very proud of the site's look. Internet's opportunities are used to the full extent, but it's new for quite a few people. That takes time. We receive a lot of requests from people who want to be in our directory, but at the moment it is not large enough for it to generate a lot of bookings."

- We read the rumor that you were about to quit GTST. This was denied immediately, but do you actually have any time left for acting?

"I enjoy being in GTST very much, and hope to be in if for a couple of years more. I was just looking for a new way to help budding artists on their way. One week after I started XSPC I happened to talk to the managing director of GlobalXS, who liked the idea very much and wanted to invest. You don't pass on an opportunity like that. We have five people working here, and everything is automated optimally. It's hard work, there is no denying. I'm on the net three hours a day on average."

- Which do you like better, XSPC or GTST?

"Tough question. They are both very important to me. I have an affinity with casting. I worked at Harry Klooster Casting B.V., renowned for many series, comedy's, commercials and so on, for a year. I studied computer science in America, and the love for both casting and computers led to XSPC. XSPC is a company that enables me to bring a lot of my ideas into practice."

- Why this interest in Geocities? Does it have anything to do with the showbiz part on Broadway and the film scene in Hollywood?

"Actually I visited Geocities just because of Geocities Marketplace (www.geocities.com/marketplace/arcade/). I don't play very often, but when I do, I like it very much. But now that you tell me about the showbiz and film parts, maybe I'll have to take another look."
